Hiring Dr. Jamie Paterson as CEO
and Closing Financing Round
feb 2, 2010
Viroblock SA, a start-up dedicated to developing and commercializing a new generation of anti-viral products, today announced that Dr. Jamie Paterson will join Viroblock as Chief Executive Officer (CEO)...
Viroblock has developed a unique anti-microbial fabric based on its proprietary cholesterol sequestration technology. Capable of inactivating H5N1 and other enveloped viruses on pass through air, the fabric opens a new chapter in air filtration. Unlike regular face-masks (e.g., N95 or FFP2) that have only a limited ability to remove enveloped viruses from pass through air, the new Viroblock mask will capture and kill more that 99.9% of respiratory enveloped viruses as they try to pass through the mask or filter. Viroblock is now working to bring this new technology to the market in a range of air filtration products that will help protect users from the increasingly virulent strains of virus found in today’s world.
In addition to anti-microbial fabrics, Viroblock is exploring the use of this technology in a number of other applications. These include a potentially protective nasal spray, hand and surface cleaners and eventually the possibility of using this technology as a microbicide against AIDS and Herpes.
