Air Filtration

Viroblock is working to complete the development of a new non-woven fabric specifically designed to kill air borne viruses on pass through air. Early prototype versions of the fabric have shown kill rates on H5N1 of up to 99.95% on pass through air.  Suitable for use into face masks, respirators, medical air filters, air conditioning filters, etc., this product is currently in final testing.

Anti-microbial fabrics

Specific formulations of Viroblock technology have been shown to kill both viruses and bacteria.  The company is thus working with partners to introduce this fabric into multiple healthcare applications. 

Antiseptic & Disinfectants

In addition to coatings Viroblock technology can be formulated into liquid and gel forms. This makes the product particularly suitable for disinfection and antiseptic applications.  Future products based on this technology would offer a broad spectrum of action and long lasting effect. 

Nasal Spray

Proof of concept data from a pair of influenza transmission experiments in Ferrets confirm that Viroblock technology could be used to create a nasal spray that would help protect users from infection.  Still at an early stage this project has generated significant interest from public health bodies and industry alike. 

Microbicide, Personal Gel or Condom Coating

The broad spectrum of action (HIV, HSV and bacteria) makes Viroblock technology applicable to genital protection products. Future work will test the technology in this arena.  

Other Applications

Viroblock technology can be formulated as a liquid, semi-solid or coating.  It offers powerful contact kill for viruses and bacteria and thus can be used multiple infection control, disinfection or cleaning applications.  These include cold sore strips, diapers coatings, veterinary applications or anywhere that topical anti-viral and anti-bacterial properties are required.
